Now Booking 2018 Weddings
Hey all!
I just wanted to pop in quickly and let any of you getting married in 2018 know that I'm now booking weddings for the 2018 season! If you're looking for a floral designer for your wedding in Winnipeg or the surrounding area, here's what I do:
-Weddings in Winnipeg and area, including Steinbach, Stonewall, East St Paul, Oakbank, Selkirk, along with Kenora (and area), Clearlake, and Gimli!
I work with couples who value creativity, uniqueness, and really want their wedding to feel like them. Does that sound like you? I love to create something unique for each of my couples, placing a high priority on creating a design that will be different from what your friends have had at their weddings.
I am a lover of beautiful blooms, garden-inspired designs, and celebrating the natural beauty that's all around us. I believe that flowers are the best way to bring life and beauty to a celebration, and love nothing more than having fresh stems in my hands. Helping you refine your style and design aesthetic is an important part of what I do, allowing me to create unique pieces that will be the perfect compliment to your wedding. While dictated by seasonal availability, I encourage incorporating local and Canadian-grown ingredients as much as possible.
Want to book an appointment? I'd love to take some time to walk through everywhere you need flowers, hear about your vision for the wedding, and put together some gorgeous ideas for you. 2018 wedding dates are booking quickly, so please click the box below to check your date!
Intimate Pastel Wedding at the Qualico Family Centre
S & E's wedding was a really lovely day to be a part of this past summer! It was a really intimate wedding, without a bridal party, and a pretty pastel colour palette. In a summer full of white and green wedding palettes, I have to say that these pastel tones were a welcome addition!

Her bridal bouquet was just lovely! Blush O'hara garden roses, ranunculus, stock, locally grown scabiosa and locally grown lisianthus were paired with several varieties of eucalyptus and jasmine vine.
There was a bit of a hitch at the ceremony site, and sometimes that happens and you need to roll with it! The Temple had assured the bride that we'd be able to attach flowers right onto the chuppah, but when I arrived to set up, the answer was a very firm no. The chuppah frame was pretty light and not very sturdy, so it wouldn't have been the best idea anyways. But, it still meant that I needed to get creative because these flowers were not going to go to waste! Luckily, I asked my husband to come along with me on this set up, and he rushed home to pick up my wood stands. I really wasn't sure how the arrangements were going to look placed on top of them, but I actually really liked it in the end! The way the jasmine vine fell down the boxes was really pretty and gardenesque.
For centrepieces, we did up a simple arrangement in pretty pastel tones. They also smelled AMAZING. Finally, I brought along extra locally grown blooms so that Kayla from Laugh Love Cakes could add them to the cake, and I love the way that turned out!
Tiffany and Quinn's Classic Wedding at the Fort Garry Hotel
The classic touches that Tiffany and Quinn chose were perfect - a ceremony in a beautiful, old church, dapper bow ties for the gents, and a champagne tower to end the night!

Bridal Bouquet Ingredients: O'Hara garden roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, carnations, delphinium, stock, lavender, silver dollar eucalyptus, and jasmine vine. For the bridesmaids, we chose a very simple, dainty clutch of garden roses. They smelled fantastic!
We came up with a great floor plan for them in the Provencher Room, combining both long and round tables, with the rectangular tables seating their closest family and friends, framing the dance floors. On the long tables, I created greenery garlands with touches of ivory and pink florals tucked in, and we used my copper bowls on the round tables, filled with lush floral arrangements featuring the MOST amazing locally grown pink lisianthus.
Tiffany had such beautiful ideas for how to pull their wedding decor together. She made her own silk table runners, as there aren't any available for rent in Winnipeg, and also cut silk ribbon streamers for all of her bouquets, along with creating copper holders for her gray taper candles. It all came together beautifully!
Carolyn and Nick's Summer Lake of the Woods Wedding
One misty summer day last year, I headed up to Kenora to the Royal Lake of the Woods Yacht Club for Carolyn and Nick's wedding. Aside from the touches of rain that sprinkled down throughout the afternoon, it was a beautiful day for the wedding! Nick is from New Zealand, so Carolyn came up with the idea to include plenty of ferns in all of the flower arrangements. I guess ferns grow all over the place over there, though I wouldn't know, having never been!
We met Carolyn's dad at her aunt's cabin, and he boated across the lake to meet the bridal party, and then across the lake again to get to the Yacht Club! It's always an adventure setting up for weddings there, as you never know quite how long it's going to take to get there and how bumpy the ride is going to be. We loaded all the flowers into the back of the boat, and covered it all up so the rain couldn't get to them.
I love the photos of the newlyweds with the the sun setting over the lake in the background!

Bridal Bouquet Ingredients: hydrangea, faith roses, ranunculus, sweet pea, zinnias, blushing bride protea, stock, Queen Anne's Lace, scabiosa, fern, ivy. The zinnias, sweet pea and scabiosa were all locally grown, which was such a treat. My studio was beautiful that week!
Carolyn wanted to keep things soft and feminine, so we used a lot of soft pink and white in the flowers. The blue of the bridesmaids' dresses picked up the hues of the lake really beautifully.
Beautiful Winter Wedding Decor Ideas
Well, I realize that we are heading into summer (which I literally could not be more pumped about), but that means that all of you brides and grooms getting married in winter are in the midst of making all of your decisions! So, I want to share my favourite ideas for beautiful winter wedding decor.
Add in Texture - And Lots of It
One of my favourite "tricks" when designing a winter wedding is using lots of texture - branches, pine boughs, berries, wood, velvet. Emily from Feast & Festivities came up with the idea to create a winter ceremony backdrop out of firewood. It was gorgeous!

Serve a Hot Drink
Whether it's a hot chocolate bar where your guests can choose from fun mix-ins, an espresso cart, or serving hot toddies as your signature cocktail, serving a hot drink during your cocktail hour or as your guests arrive at the ceremony is a lovely way to welcome them to your celebration. Abiding Citizen is my favourite craft beverage company; their shrubs, bitters, and syrups are perfect.
Decorate with Warm Textiles
For this tablescape designed by Host Winnipeg, we used a gorgeous blanket as the table covering. The texture added warmth softness, which is just what you want in winter. Thick linen tablecloths would also be great!

Gift a Fresh Favour
Some of my favourite wedding favours have been Ferrero Rocher chocolates or individually packaged macarons, but the idea of a fresh bundle of herbs waiting for your guests is beautiful. The fragrance alone would be intoxicating, and your guests could take these home for cooing savoury soups and stews, or throw them into their fireplace for a cozy night in.
Focus on Lighting
Mood lighting is the best way to create the right atmosphere for your winter wedding. Whether that means soft candlelight for an elegant evening or cafe lighting for a celebratory fˆ´te, lighting will accomplish the right look.
Don't Shy Away from Greenery
One of my December brides once told me that she wanted her wedding to look the way it feels when you look up at the dark, starry sky through the bare branches. I thought this was so beautiful. But, rather than using branches everywhere, we chose greenery! I used a lot of feather eucalyptus, which has skinny, feathery leaves that created that branchy feeling. Greenery bouquets marking the aisle, tall arrangements of evergreens, suspended greenery installations - any of these would be beautiful at a winter wedding.
Get Outside, Even if it's Just for a Few Minutes
Half the reason you chose a winter wedding date was probably so you could take some outdoor photos. No matter how cold it is, pop outside for a few minutes with your photographer, to grab some of those coveted snow falling, rosy cheeked, chilly aired photos.
Choose Rich Flavours
Warm, savoury soups and rich, luxurious desserts are the way to go! In the winter, we all crave a little extra luxury, so a thick chocolate cake slathered in buttercream or a classic New York style cheesecake is the perfect choice.
