Jessica + Jason's Sweet Wedding at Bridges Golf Course

Jason and I went to elementary and junior high together, and he has a pretty unique last name, so when Jessica sent me an inquiry and mentioned his name, I thought: there's no way there can be two of these guys that I don't know about. I was right! Jason was always fun and goofy, and it was so nice to then meet Jessica and find out that Jason was marrying a delightful, charming, kind and lovely woman. They are the sweetest!

Jessica and Jason had a sweet wedding at Bridges Golf Course, and I worked with a light, airy palette of blush, white, and pale blue. Jessica was pretty open to what flowers I used, and seeing as they got married in May, I chose to use peonies (obviously), locally grown double tulips, sweet William, delphinium, spray roses, campanula, and per Jessica's request, baby's breath!

Riverwood Church Wedding - Indoor Wedding Ceremony Winnipeg

The wedding ceremony was in the mezzanine area at Riverwood Church - isn't is gorgeous? The couple built this arch and I added this floral piece to the corner. It just needed this one piece and all the attention was drawn to them!

Then we headed over to Bridges Golf Course! Their reception space is always beautiful. It's on the rustic side, with lots of natural light, and it looks great with a soft or neutral colour palette. When we were talking about centrepieces, we needed to strike a balance between lovely and fresh, and cost-effective. I love floating flowers and their striking simplicity, so I thought, let's do peonies. We floated a single blush peony in a glass vase, with a trio of gold-rimmed votives around. It looked lovely!

Rarely do I get to do the flowers on the wedding cake, and so this one was a TON of fun for me! A friend of Jessica's made the cake, and I added a few clusters of floral and greenery (all were made food-safe, don't worry! I'm super cautious about naked floral stems going into a cake. I don't want any flower juices oozing into your wedding cake!).

Elena and Jeremy's Romantic Spring Wedding at the WAG

If you like fluffy, ruffled flowers (like peonies, ranunculus, and stock), then springtime is totally when you should get married. That made May the ideal month for Elena and Jeremy's romantic spring wedding at the WAG. Seriously. Take a look at the fluffy dream cloud that was Elena's bridal bouquet (and by the way, if you love peonies, then check out this gorgeous springtime inspiration shoot I did at Cielo's Garden!).

Bridal Bouquet Ingredients: peonies, anemones and ranunculus (both locally grown!), and roses with touches of eucalyptus foliage.

Elena actually booked her wedding date around my availability - talk about an honour! Their entire day came together so beautifully. The couple has two sweet little kids and it was so lovely to receive these photos from Austin Kylie Photography and see their beautiful family. Even cooler? Elena grew up with my younger sister! We all went to school together when we were kids and I remember sleepovers in our bunk beds and tons of time playing together when we were little.

I did a simple hair piece for the bride to wear, and white ranunculus boutonnieres for the men. It was all simple, classic, and beautiful!

And now we get to the decor! Sometimes, we have to go with the backup plan. Plan A for the outdoor ceremony (on the rooftop at the WAG!) was to have a 4 post chuppah with a lush floral garland added to the entire top. Unfortunately, the chuppah that was made didn't come close to supporting the weight of all the flowers that we had planned for.

SO, what did we do? After calling a few vendor friends to see if we could get an alternative arch that morning (sadly, that option didn't pan out but we tried!), we decided to forgo the floral on the top and instead attached two bouquets to the sides of the arch. We took all those flowers intended for the top of the chuppah, and moved those over to the head table. Can't wait to show you that beauty!

We did a combination of tall and short centrepieces in the reception space, which filled out the venue really nicely. Both of them features peonies, roses, and stock in whites,, blush and peach.Gold chivari chairs, gold-rimmed glass charger plates, and ivory linens from Planned Perfectly finished the design off beautifully.

Intimate Pastel Wedding at the Qualico Family Centre

S & E's wedding was a really lovely day to be a part of this past summer! It was a really intimate wedding, without a bridal party, and a pretty pastel colour palette. In a summer full of white and green wedding palettes, I have to say that these pastel tones were a welcome addition!

Her bridal bouquet was just lovely! Blush O'hara garden roses, ranunculus, stock, locally grown scabiosa and locally grown lisianthus were paired with several varieties of eucalyptus and jasmine vine.

There was a bit of a hitch at the ceremony site, and sometimes that happens and you need to roll with it! The Temple had assured the bride that we'd be able to attach flowers right onto the chuppah, but when I arrived to set up, the answer was a very firm no. The chuppah frame was pretty light and not very sturdy, so it wouldn't have been the best idea anyways. But, it still meant that I needed to get creative because these flowers were not going to go to waste! Luckily, I asked my husband to come along with me on this set up, and he rushed home to pick up my wood stands. I really wasn't sure how the arrangements were going to look placed on top of them, but I actually really liked it in the end! The way the jasmine vine fell down the boxes was really pretty and gardenesque.

For centrepieces, we did up a simple arrangement in pretty pastel tones. They also smelled AMAZING. Finally, I brought along extra locally grown blooms so that Kayla from Laugh Love Cakes could add them to the cake, and I love the way that turned out!

Tiffany and Quinn's Classic Wedding at the Fort Garry Hotel

The classic touches that Tiffany and Quinn chose were perfect - a ceremony in a beautiful, old church, dapper bow ties for the gents, and a champagne tower to end the night!

Kamp Photography | Fort Garry Hotel

Bridal Bouquet Ingredients: O'Hara garden roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, carnations, delphinium, stock, lavender, silver dollar eucalyptus, and jasmine vine. For the bridesmaids, we chose a very simple, dainty clutch of garden roses. They smelled fantastic!

We came up with a great floor plan for them in the Provencher Room, combining both long and round tables, with the rectangular tables seating their closest family and friends, framing the dance floors. On the long tables, I created greenery garlands with touches of ivory and pink florals tucked in, and we used my copper bowls on the round tables, filled with lush floral arrangements featuring the MOST amazing locally grown pink lisianthus.

Tiffany had such beautiful ideas for how to pull their wedding decor together. She made her own silk table runners, as there aren't any available for rent in Winnipeg, and also cut silk ribbon streamers for all of her bouquets, along with creating copper holders for her gray taper candles. It all came together beautifully!

Carolyn and Nick's Summer Lake of the Woods Wedding

One misty summer day last year, I headed up to Kenora to the Royal Lake of the Woods Yacht Club for Carolyn and Nick's wedding. Aside from the touches of rain that sprinkled down throughout the afternoon, it was a beautiful day for the wedding! Nick is from New Zealand, so Carolyn came up with the idea to include plenty of ferns in all of the flower arrangements. I guess ferns grow all over the place over there, though I wouldn't know, having never been!

We met Carolyn's dad at her aunt's cabin, and he boated across the lake to meet the bridal party, and then across the lake again to get to the Yacht Club! It's always an adventure setting up for weddings there, as you never know quite how long it's going to take to get there and how bumpy the ride is going to be. We loaded all the flowers into the back of the boat, and covered it all up so the rain couldn't get to them.

I love the photos of the newlyweds with the the sun setting over the lake in the background!

Bridal Bouquet Ingredients: hydrangea, faith roses, ranunculus, sweet pea, zinnias, blushing bride protea, stock, Queen Anne's Lace, scabiosa, fern, ivy. The zinnias, sweet pea and scabiosa were all locally grown, which was such a treat. My studio was beautiful that week!

Carolyn wanted to keep things soft and feminine, so we used a lot of soft pink and white in the flowers. The blue of the bridesmaids' dresses picked up the hues of the lake really beautifully.
