A Flower Field Day
Back in August, I spent the BEST morning at a flower field day with some of my local flower friends (we affectionately call each other our #flowerfriends). We toured around Lily Stone Gardens, cutting stems to our hearts' content, chatting about our businesses and the flowers that we love the most, and playing with these wonderful, locally grown blooms. It is so exciting to me that I have the opportunity to include locally grown flowers in my designs; these stems are grown with the utmost care, attention, and love! If you're getting married in the summer, chances are that I'm going to use local blooms, whether you ask for them or not ;)
Enjoy this trip to the farm!

Laurie and Joël's Summer Tent Wedding
One very wet and rainy Saturday in August, Laurie and Joël got hitched! This was an incredibly awesome wedding for me to be a part of. Not only did I design the florals for them, but I also coordinated the wedding. I don't normally do that, but when Laurie asked, I couldn't say no -- she's just SO sweet. She's the kind of person who makes you feel like she's known you forever and has a way of making you feel special. Their ceremony was one of the best ceremonies I've ever seen. A reading from The Princess Bride, shots of whiskey, and the most gorgeous vows I've heard were all part of it. So despite the mucky grass and a windstorm that knocked the whole tent down (don't worry, it was well after all the guests had left!), their day was just amazing.

Some of my favourite parts of this wedding:
-The flower girl. She was just the sweetest and so excited to be a fairy princess flower girl wearing a crown :)
-Growing some of the ingredients for Laurie's bouquet in my own garden! Sweet touches of basil and rosemary were awesome.

Jessica and Shad's Pineridge Hollow Wedding
I love Pineridge Hollow! It's such a pretty venue. Jessica and Shad were married in early August with an outdoor ceremony before the rain came, and a tented reception. Jessica chose an all-white and green palette for her florals, and wanted her florals to be whimsical, romantic, and pretty. I loved the dahlias I got to use in her bouquet, and luckily for me, blushing bride protea just happened to be in my wholesaler's cooler so I added some of that in there as well! One of my favourite touches is the sweet little jasmine vine at the bottom, which came from my own garden.
Special thanks to Andrea of A Marie Photography for these images! More credits at the bottom of the post.

Leighann and Paul's Detailed Country Wedding
I LOVED being a part of Leighann and Paul's wedding. First, she was just really awesome to work with (it seems like I'm saying that a lot! I've been really lucky with the brides who have hired me!). Second, she had really great style, and was very trusting of me to just do my thing.
One of my favourite aspects of their wedding was the ceremony space. We were originally going to do their ceremony outdoors with a floral garland attached to an arbor. But when Cielo's Garden unveiled their AMAZING new covered ceremony space, Leighann changed her mind and I'm super glad that she did! The space was so gorgeous - airy, fresh, and felt like it wasn't even in Manitoba anymore. That meant that we had to get creative with those ceremony florals. So, I came up with the plan to create a hanging installation in the place of where an arbor would have been, and I just love the results. I found the perfect branch when I was out playing Frisbee, and I applied the floral arrangements right onto it. We also added two fresh, pretty arrangements at the base!
