Joe and Hailey's Garden-Inspired Wedding

This wedding was truly one for the memory books! Joe and Hailey's wedding was actually a part of the Sinclair & Moore workshop that I attended in February - after a few days of learning and designing, we banded together to spend an entire day setting up this incredible fete.

One of the spotlight pieces that our team worked on was this amazing floral staircase. The venue was quite unique, in that the ceremony was held upstairs and the reception on the main floor. The staircase in itself was a fairly lovely statement, all in wood and very broad - making it the perfect place to create a trailing, garden-inspired installation moving up and down the staircase. It was the perfect backdrop for newlywed photos!

The ceremony setting was the very definition of awe-inspiring. I worked on this incredible arch ALL DAY and it was so rewarding! I've got more to come showing the behind-the-scenes soon!

To see Hailey and Joe say their vows under this veritable garden was the perfect way to finish the day. The aisle was covered in thousands upon thousands of rose petals, along with lush centrepieces lining the walkway.

Steve from Sinclair & Moore designed the reception very carefully, highlighting the space's best features (like working with the long, narrow floor plan to its best advantage), while camouflaging the less than sightly sections, like panelled walls and a low ceiling. He chose two centrepiece styles: one, a tall arrangement of flowering branches with stem vases and coloured glass candleholders, and the other a low, lush floral arrangement filled with the most beautiful blooms.

Intimate Pink, Gold, and Navy Wedding at Cibo

Lindsay and Blair were married this fall in an intimate celebration at Cibo Waterfront Cafe. For their small wedding, all they needed from me was bouquets. All Lindsay was specific about was the colour palette - she was wearing a sequinned gold dress, her bridesmaids were wearing navy, and she wanted pink in the flowers. I decided that if we were doing a pink bouquet, then we should do it with some interesting blooms!

I chose to use pink lisianthus and La Perla roses, which are both fairly common but I rarely use them! Next up was white nerine, which was totally the star of the show. Their star-like shape and the way the blooms unfurl is just magical. White anemones, pink riceflower, and plummy agonis finished off perfectly. So much texture! 

Madison and James' Elegant Winter Wedding at St. Boniface Golf Course

This is a long one. There were just WAY too many great photos that I had to share! Madison and James' elegant winter wedding at St. Boniface Golf Course was my first wedding of 2017 and it was a great one. 

Working on the flowers, I only see one part of the whole picture. For this wedding, all the flowers were white and green and I was worried it was going to feel a little "typical winter." But when I walked into St. Boniface Golf Course and started setting everything up, it all came together. Soft mocha and champagne tones and touches of pale pink layered together to create a really elegant feel.

I really loved putting together Madison's bouquet. It had a lovely shape to it while still feeling manicured and contained. Bridal bouquet ingredients: O'Hara garden roses, tibet roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, eucalytpus, Italian ruscus, cedar, and variegated Italian pittosporum.

Ah! Madison's veil and this dewey, moody lighting is just gorg.

See what I mean?! This room together in a really beautiful way. As a spotlight, behind the head table I created this hanging installation. Birch bark poles combined with plenty of hanging vine and flowers along with hanging candles and it turned out wonderfully. I owe very many thanks to my assistant Danielle for hep help with this!

Crystal and Jason's Organic Fall Wedding at Pineridge Hollow

Crystal was such a delight to work with. With a distinct vision for her wedding to Jason, I had a lot of fun helping her to plan this organic fall wedding at Pineridge Hollow.  She really loves rich colours, so the burgundy and navy that we wove throughout the florals was perfect. She also had this amazing idea for me to come and basically cut down her entire antique hydrangea plant the week of the wedding. Well, hers didn't last super well so she arranged for me to cut from the plants that a local business were growing. It made me SO happy.

I love the delicate hint of colour in Crystal's bridal gown! She was wearing pearls when we first met, so I wasn't surprised that she wore them again on the wedding day.

Bridal Bouquet ingredients: antique hydrangea, astilbe, dahlias, roses, mums, scabiosa, snap dragons, snowberries and viburnum berries along with leather leaf fern, jasmine vine, and nagi foliage. I finished with soft blue and mocha silk ribbon.

The ceremony was on the back of Pineridge Hollow's property, a small clearing in the woods. I dressed up their birch arbor with this simple, but large, arrangement of fresh and dried hydrangea. 

At the front of the aisle sat two large wine barrels, one with a greenery garland and candles and the other with this enormous (and heavy!) arrangement of hydrangea, delphinium, smokebush, and tailing greens.

The reception details were some of my favourites! Crystal hand-died these cheesecloth table runners the perfect smoky blue tone, and collected these gorgeous brass pots for me to use as centrepiece containers. These were so cool - she bought them for a song at a furniture store that was closing out. The store was charing a lot for them because they had expensive faux plants in them, but when they found out that she just wanted the pots, they gave her a great deal - which is amazing, considering these things cost a fortune regularly!

Above the reception space, we created a greenery installation that was a lot of fun (and terror) to create. The grapevine globe lights from Event Light were a gorgeous addition.

Whimsical Summer Wedding at Evergreen Village

I loved all of the whimsical touches and style that Cara and Harrison pulled into their wedding. It was basically like a beautiful unicorn wedding, if that's possible. Evergreen Village just outside of Niverville was a lovely setting, and for goodness' sake, look at the gorgeous tones of the mismatched bridesmaid dresses! So pretty!

Cara's bouquet ended up being one of my favourite bouquets of 2016, but it didn't start out that way. I decided to try a different technique and I didn't feel like I was getting the hang of it at all. In the end, I loved it. I used very little greenery (all of which was foraged) and my favourite things about the bouquet were the gorgeous tones of the dahlias and all of the movement I was able to achieve with the bouquet's shape. 

Bridal Bouquet Ingredients: dahlias, roses, lisianthus, scabiosa, delphinium, smokebush, olive, and white poplar.

Cara wanted a simple, light flower crown. I used an olive foliage base and tucked in white waxflower with white spray roses.

The ceremony design was simple, but really pretty and lush. I started with a long greenery garland and then added in a TON of white hydrangea. It was like getting married under a cloud.
