Nadia and Tom's Dreamy Wedding at Cielo's Garden

Nadia and Tom's wedding at Cielo's Garden took place in June of this year, and it was an absolute dream. A gorgeous couple, their wonderful friends, and a fairytale-like forest setting? Incredible!

I LOVED Nadia's bouquet. I included some locally grown white peonies - 1 stem had 3 blooms on it!! It was amazing. Ingredients: peonies, quicksand roses, campanula, bleeding heart (from my garden), and several varieties of eucalyptus.

I had to share this sweet moment - the little flower girl helping photographer Izabela to lay out the boutonnieres and corsages in a way she thought was beautiful. So adorable!

Ahhhh I love this! Katie and Dan (pictured above) were one of my 2016 couples (see their incredible vineyard-inspired wedding here), and they welcomed their first daughter just a couple of weeks before Nadia and Tom's wedding. Katie is Tom's sister, so she referred them to me. It was a dream to work with this family twice!

Cielo's Garden Wedding Ceremony - Hanging Greenery Installation

In the chapel, Nadia wanted me to create something whimsical to compliment the fairytale-like forest setting of Cielo's Garden. I designed this piece on site, working with about 5 different types of greenery to create this piece.

We wanted to continue the whimsical feeling with the reception decor, so I designed an eclectic mix of small arrangements, large arrangements, stem vase and geometric containers. We used some of my vases, and some rented from C&T Rentals. Nadia loves the airy look of baby's breath, so I used a lot of it and added in roses, larkspur, spray roses and eucalyptus. It looked awesome! Oh yeah, and Nadia did all of the beautiful calligraphy and handwritten details herself!

Simple White and Pink Wedding at Qualico Family Centre

Carmelle and Brandon are such a lovely couple. My husband and I actually went to high school with Brandon, so when Carmelle inquired I was super curious to find out if it was him. Then, I realized that they were also our back lane neighbours at our old house! She used to see my Stone House delivery vehicle driving around the neighbourhood all the time :) It was wonderful to be a part of their simple white and pink wedding this summer at the Qualico Family Centre.

Megan Steen Photography did such an amazing job capturing the sweet, calm nature of this wedding day!

I love the way the soft sage green bridesmaid dresses paired with the delicate pink of the bouquets. There was something about it that was so simple and fresh!

Bridal Bouquet ingredients: pink garden roses, locally grown ranunculus, stock, tulips, hypericum berries, eucayptus and ferns.

We also tucked in different floral touches to all of the women's hair!

This picture of Carmelle stops me in my tracks. Isn't she stunning?

At the reception, we kept the floral decor quite simple. The Qualico Family Centre looks beautiful in soft shades of white, ivory, cream, gold, champagne and green. So, simple arrangements of white hydrangea and eucalyptus foliage was perfect!

Prairie Dusk Inspiration Shoot

I love being able to be a part of the Cielo's Garden Open Houses. Last year, I worked with Amanda Douglas Events on a fresh, simple reception design with a light blue, yellow, and terracotta palette. This year, I selected a dusky purple and dried wheat palette reminiscent of a late summer haze.

I'd been sitting on this idea of using dried materials for a few months, and on a walk early this spring, the idea hatched. I foraged plenty of dried grasses and used that wheat colour as the focal point, working in some mauves for a little dusky femininity. I wanted to keep the design on the minimal side, allowing our simple prairiescapes to inspire.

I'm very excited that this shoot is featured today on my favourite local wedding blog, Host Winnipeg!

Bridal bouquet ingredients: roses, fritillaria, lilac, astrantia, spray roses, sunflowers (with their petals picked off - adding great texture!), and greenery.

I LOVED the stationery suite that Jennifer Bianca Calligraphy designed. She incorporated sketches of dried prairie grass and wheat, along with an overall minimal design. It was a gorgeous combination of calligraphy, minimal type, and colour.

I wanted to go simple in the ceremony space, hanging a single branch with individual bouquets of dried foliages and grasses. I loved how it came together! Just a light, simple backdrop for the exchange of vows.

I also wanted to keep things a bit more minimal at the reception. The long wooden tables are so beautiful! I used sleek stem vases, gold-rimmed votive holders and glasses, marble coasters, and simple stems of dried grasses and plum astrantia.

Many of my couples have been choosing to do something different with their floor plans, so I wanted to show a sweetheart table as an option for the open house guests. I wanted to create a light, airy installation above the newlyweds, so I created this exclusively out of dried grasses. The soft oatmeal tone of the linen went perfectly, and I added a bit of a larger floral centrepiece to offset the bridal bouquet.

Romantic and Feminine Wedding Flowers for Stephanie

Stephanie and Grant got married in early June, on one of the first gorgeous days of the summer. Stephanie had a romantic vision that I was so happy to oblige, and though she initially wanted to keep the flowers more neutral (whites, greens, touch of blush), I was super excited when we decided to add in more feminine tones of peachy pinks and mauves. I LOVED this bridal bouquet!

I loved these big arrangements I did for the ceremony! They were set of these minimal gold stands I have, which can either blend really nicely and be barely visible in a venue, or they can stand out with a really unique style.

Brittany and Jordan's Springtime Wedding at St Charles Country Club

I LOVE when I get to work with couples who I already know! Brittany and Jordan work with my husband, Chad, and they're a lot of fun. Both are geeky in the sense that they love superhero movies and comic books...and so do we. We've had a lot of fun hanging out with them, dissecting every last move of a Marvel or DC hero. So when they finally got engaged and we started talking wedding flowers, I was pretty excited!

Purple and White Wedding Bouquet - Stone House Creative

Britt and Jordan's wedding was actually my first one of the busy 2017 spring wedding season, and it was SUCH a good way to start. The colour purple tends to get a lot of flack at weddings, probably because it was a little over popular a few years back and not always done in the nicest of ways. When Britt said she wanted to do shades of purples, I was all for it because I think purple can be done SO great. So forgive me for a little overly gratuitous posting of these bouquet pics courtesy of Megan Steen, because I LOVE THEM.

I always say that springtime is the best time to get married if you're a flower lover, and woah nelly, is that ever the truth.

Bridal bouquet ingredients: peonies (some of the most glorious peonies I've ever had!), shades of purple and lavender stock, sweet pea, gorgeous deep purple scabiosa, and white ranunculus. I took about 85 pictures of this bouquet and they're all still on my phone because I just can't get rid of them. I loved this bouquet!

PS this is what it looks like when I deliver wedding flowers and the bride and I geek out about them ha!

And, Im just going to drop this GORG pic of Brittany right here. Total smoke show!

The wedding ceremony was supposed to be held in the garden but thanks to some mid-afternoon rain on an otherwise gorgeous day, they moved it inside. St Charles has this gorgeous fireplace that made for a pretty lovely backup location, and the arrangements that I did up for the garden were just moved inside. Sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta do!

For the reception, we did up two styles of centrepieces that all brought in the purple. The mix of two styles helped with budget - style one was a low stone urn with a simple arrangement of purple hydrangea, and style two was a full, rich floral wreath with a lantern set in the centre. Brittany found all these different lanterns to use, which also brought in some variety and helped to make the room a little more interesting.

I love how these lantern arrangements turned out. I used a great variety of different flower shapes and tones of purple, ranging from more pinks to deeper purples. I used roses, button mums, stock, trachellium, Queen Anne's Lace and a few different types of greenery.
