Spring Engagement Photos with a Lilac Bouquet
I absolutely LOVE lilacs, and when they are in bloom, man! Do I ever have to capitalize on them! These were picked from my lovely friend's yard, and I mixed them with some apple blossoms and other things I found growing around the neighbourhood. It smelled lovely, and was just the sweetest addition to Teighan and Adam's engagement session with Austin Kylie Photography!
Bold Hued Wedding Flowers
I'm one of those people who tends to choose neutral or pastel colours and has a huge black section in my closet, and yet always finds myself drawn to bold, bright hues. So earlier this year, I decided to give in to my secret love for bold colours! I cannot get enough of those bright magenta anemones!
Thank you Victoria Anne Photography for the bright photos!
Lisa and Andrew's Winter Wedding at Bridges
Early in January, Lisa and Andrew got married in a rustic winter-themed wedding. I've actually known Andrew for probably 15 years, through mutual friends and he's always kept me laughing. I met Lisa at a wedding - the two on them happened to be sitting in front of me! I had a great time working with her on the plans for the wedding flowers. She wanted an all-white, textured bouquet with hits of silver and let me take it from there! Her bouquet was composed of hydrangea, stock, spray roses, ranunculus, wax flower, silver seeded eucalyptus, and dusty miller.
Thank you to Izabela, at Rachwal Photography for the lovely photos! She always takes such beautiful photos of flowers.
Katie and Jack's Intimate Restaurant Wedding
Katie was SUCH a delight to work with on her wedding flowers. She and Jack haven't been together for terribly long, but both knew that there was no point in putting off their marriage - together, they were better than they were ever separate. Every time she told me something about her planning, her style, or her man, I just got excited. They had a short engagement, and planned an intimate wedding at Resto Gare in St. Boniface (SUCH a great space!) in the middle of February. Katie absolutely needed to have peonies, and I was happy to oblige :) We added in other touches of blush as her dress had a champagne tinge to it, and the finishing touches were real fox fur. Yep, that's true. Someone in Katie's family is a furrier, and she wanted to incorporate white fox fur, which I wrapped around the handle so she had a soft place to put her hands. I will say, it was a bit weird to get a bag of fox fur delivered to my home...
Thank you SO much to Coralee and Bec, the awesome ladies over at Red Photo Co, for sharing these images with us. They got some amazing pics of the couple outside in the cold air, and if you want to see more, you should check out their blog here.
Meaningful Wedding Stationery Ideas
I hope you've seen our recent features on Vale & Vine! For this shoot, we wanted to focus on the ceremony and the beautiful, meaningful moments that should be celebrated. I loved the stationery pieces that Robin Egg Blue designed, and think they should get their own spotlight. This is the perfect example why you should hire wedding pros that you love, and then let them do their thing. Robin's vow booklets were just so perfect!
P.S. This gorgeous botanical design is available in Robin Egg Blue's "Off the Shelf" collection!
