I can’t tell you just how incredibly flattering it is whenever a wedding professional reaches out to me to do their flowers for their own wedding. My wedding industry colleagues have the opportunity to meet and work with the top florists in the city, and it is such an honour to be chosen to take part in their own celebrations. Alli and Dan’s wedding was no different - I was so excited when she, a wedding planner, decided that she wanted me to play a large role in her wedding. Alli had a lot of great ideas for her wedding to Dan at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, including a vibrant, fun colour palette and a very cool idea for her floor plan. They wanted to keep the ceremony short and sweet and really allow the party to be the focal point of the evening, so immediately after the ceremony, the chairs were taken out and more tables were brought in, along with making space for a live band and huge dance floor.
Knowing herself how the very best wedding designs come together when the florist is given creative permission to play and have fun, Alli really left a lot of the floral choices up to me. My favourite thing was their ceremony arch, which started with a rough idea Alli had and her only request was that the height varied on each side of the deconstructed, 2 piece arch - because Dan is about a foot taller than her!
